High Cotton was started in March of 2004 with little more than an idea and a stove. Now it has grown into one of the most prominent food establishments in Natchez, Mississippi.
Chef Doug Hosford is a Mississippi native that has come back to his roots. His contemporary twist on traditional southern favorites has made him a local celebrity chef. After graduating from Johnson & Wales University, he went on to work at a variety of renowned restaurants and private clubs including The Cloister of Sea Island Georgia, and the Country Club of Birmingham. While leading the culinary team at the Country Club of Birmingham, the exclusive club was ranked one of the top ten in the nation. Doug now teaches all High Cotton Cooking Classes in addition to overseeing the catering side of the business.
Doug has put together a great team, including his wife, Karry, whom he met at culinary school. When she has time away from her busy food photography schedule (see examples of her work all over the site!), she assists with the catering and classes. As High Cotton grows and grows, we add more terrific people to our team. |
